THE NAME

Magh · Ellan

“Maghellan”, taken from the Gaelic word “magh”, meaning fertile ground and “Ellan”, from the Monk St.Fillan — who travelled from Munster in Ireland and lived, worked and preached on the land that is now the Macallan Estate.

Painting of Saint Faolan

THE NAMESAKE

The historic saint St Fillian is also known by the Gaelic name Faolan and this single cask expression of Macallan is our homage to that distant but well remembered saint.
